In 1984, Do Won Chang and Jin Sook Chang started Fashion 21 in Los Angeles, California. The company expanded and was renamed Forever 21 soon after. In 1989, the first mall location opened. It wasn’t until 1995 that Forever 21 moved outside of California. That year a new store was opened in the Mall of the Americas in Miami, Florida.
In 2010 Forever 21 expanded internationally, opening stores in the United Kingdom and Ireland. A year later, the company opened its first continental European location in Brussels. Forever 21 now operates more than 480 stores throughout the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Latin America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
